Airbnb

Superhosts do more than give people a place to stay. They arrange rides from the airport, tell people where to find the best scone they’ve ever had, and even have balloons waiting for when they ask ‘the big question’. The point is, whether it be big or small, they play a pivotal role in helping people have trips they’ll remember long after check-out. As 2019 came to a close, Airbnb wanted to celebrate these amazing people for all of the ways they’d earned the right to be called ‘super’.

Meet the Superhosts
To achieve that, we created holistic initiatives to show our appreciation and recognize the world’s best hosts within our Airbnb community. Including physical awards delivered to the most consistent, data-driven & hyper-personalized emails, social first films, IG stories, hero photography and regional events bringing Superhosts together to trade super powers. All done at a global scale.

Physical awards for 20-term Superhosts. Symbolizing how they’ve opened their doors to the world and made every guest feel like they belong anywhere.

Social stories highlighting the ‘Super’ in each of our Superhosts from all over the world.

We selected certain Superhosts and created beautiful social stories of them through animated film—working with the incredibly talented teams at GIANT ANT, ODDFELLOWS and STATE DESIGN.

We even went as far as turning a duo of Superhosts, Nia & Tacuma, into a comic book for turning a run down community into a thriving, colorful destination for the world to visit. This was featured as a double page spread in Airbnb magazine.
